Reaping the rewards of research

I have been reading lots of blogs since I decided to start this endeavor and I think I need to take some time to explain what I’m trying to do and why. While travel is one of my biggest passions, I am by no means an expert. I am not the most well traveled person to write a travel blog, not even close. I know this and embrace it, because part of what fuels my passion for travel is the research and planning. In helping some friends and family with planning trips, I realized I don’t even have to be the one traveling in order to get excited to do the research, and apparently not everyone gets excited to spend hours looking at websites and books. Many people just want to book a vacation and relax without having to think about much more than that. This is where I want to come in and help. While I haven’t been everywhere on my list, I have done a ton of research for the places I have been to, and several that I haven’t…yet.

In doing the planning and research ahead of time, not only have I found great deals, but I have been able to see and do things that I thought I could only dream of doing before. Even if the destination or activity seems out of reach, it doesn’t hurt to look into it!

I thought waking up to this view of Doubtful Sound in New Zealand was impossible for my budget, but I spent weeks looking at all of the options and found a way to make this dream a reality.

I would love to help others figure out how to plan for their own adventures and make them happen. I also recognize that everyone wants and expects something different out of their vacations, sometimes even within the same group on the same vacation. I have come up with some good tricks as well as made lots of mistakes and I look forward to sharing my knowledge, and hopefully helping you create some awesome adventures! wanaka copyright
